Vocabulary is your new superpower when learning a new language. Here is why:

If you are at the beginning of learning a new language knowing lots of words can help you tremendously. People often understand you without any grammar, that is why it is even more important when traveling that you know as many words a possible or at least know some words so you can describe what you want to say. Generally, knowing a lot of vocabulary also broadens your horizon, as you are able to talk about nearly anything you want. You can gain a whole new perspective, because you are able to talk to people from a different culture with different opinions. Something to keep in mind is that on a certain language level you need to be able to speak with a proper grammar. For this reason having a good balance between learning grammar and vocabulary is important. Nonetheless the balance you place is really up to you. There is no right or wrong, each person on this earth has it’s own preference! Some people say that learning vocabulary feels like they aren’t making any significant progress. However learning vocabulary is one of the most efficient ways to learn a new language as it actually speeds up you learning. When speaking to another person confidence is a key factor on how you interact with people.
